Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow tomorrow? Folks have been tracking that crazy groundhog and his shadow since 1886! The record shows he has seen his shadow 98 times, has not seen his shadow 15 times, and for 10 years his prediction is unknown.

Just because it’s only 16 days until Christmas doesn’t mean you can’t make this cute quilt from Clothworks, which features their 12 Days fabric collection. After all, there’s always next year!

Clothworks’ 12 Days quilt, designed by Sharon Sowell, is perfect for this time of year. The cheerful stars and fun center block are sure to brighten up your holiday decor. You’ll find the free pattern for this project and a cute runner from Clothworks here.

I’ll be 50 years old in August. How the heck did that happen??? I remember when I thought 50 was OLD, but now I’m thinking “50 can’t be old ’cause I’ll soon be 50 and I’M NOT OLD!!!!!” Yeah, right – I feel every one of my almost-50 years and then some.

Milestone birthdays have never bothered me. I never wanted to be 29 over and over again, and 40 was rather liberating to me in a lot of ways. But 50! I’m having a real struggle accepting that I’m about to hit the BIG 5-0! So I’ve decided that rather than hide my head under the covers and give in to the dread, I’ll just shout it from the rooftops and make the whole summer one big party!

That’s why last weekend I announced our “50 & Fabulous Sale-abration” at SHQC (sorry, I’m a little behind with this post. What is it they say “The mind is the first thing to go!”)  Anyway, it’s 50 days until my birthday (AND the shop’s birthday, too!)  so I’m putting up weekly specials for you to help get me in the mood to celebrate!
