I’ll be 50 years old in August. How the heck did that happen??? I remember when I thought 50 was OLD, but now I’m thinking “50 can’t be old ’cause I’ll soon be 50 and I’M NOT OLD!!!!!” Yeah, right – I feel every one of my almost-50 years and then some.
Milestone birthdays have never bothered me. I never wanted to be 29 over and over again, and 40 was rather liberating to me in a lot of ways. But 50! I’m having a real struggle accepting that I’m about to hit the BIG 5-0! So I’ve decided that rather than hide my head under the covers and give in to the dread, I’ll just shout it from the rooftops and make the whole summer one big party!
That’s why last weekend I announced our “50 & Fabulous Sale-abration” at SHQC (sorry, I’m a little behind with this post. What is it they say “The mind is the first thing to go!”) Anyway, it’s 50 days until my birthday (AND the shop’s birthday, too!) so I’m putting up weekly specials for you to help get me in the mood to celebrate!
We have a new weekly special beginning tomorrow, 7/18, which will be valid through July 24. Just in case you didn’t get my email newsletter, here’s what next week holds:
Take 30% off any one cut of fabric, 3 yards or larger (sale fabric is excluded). This includes all of our new fabrics, including Christmas!!! Need borders or backing for a quilt? Now is the time to get a great deal! If you order online, we’ll apply the discount when we process your order for shipping.

I’ve pulled over 50 bolts of Batiks (the pictures give you an idea of what is included, but don’t show all of them!), including several 108″ wide Batiks for this week’s special, too.

Finish the bolt, and take 50% off
The Batik Special is in-store only, unless you want us to make a selection for you. These aren’t on the website, but you can email me or call the shop to place an order and we’ll be happy to ship it to you.
