How Fabric Is Printed

This video was created by Ken Kaufman of Robert Kaufman Fabrics during a visit to their printing plants in Japan. I thought you might enjoy this fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the many steps involved in printing fabric. The video takes you from design concept to final printing and all the steps in between. It’s a wonder the price of fabric isn’t ten times what it is!

Melisa, I had no idea of how involved the process was. I guess I thought that everything was totally computerized and I don’t understand that either, but I did not realize there was so much hands on work. Yes, yes, thank you to the Kaufman company and to the artisans of Korea and Japan.
