Mystery Monday-Sherri

My friend, Sherri Falls, is hosting “Mystery Monday’s” on her blog. The second mystery just started this week so you still have time to catch up. This mystery project has a holiday theme and you’ll have plenty of time to get it done by Christmas…if you keep up! (Click the picture to go to Sherri’s blog.)

And you can always go back and do Sherri’s first mystery, too. All of the parts are still on her blog, but I don’t know how long she’ll leave them up…check it out before it’s gone! Don’t peek at the last clue if you don’t want to see what it looks like!

Have fun, and please share your completed projects with me (and Sherri!) if you make the mysteries.

“Season’s” Stitchery Series

Seasons

One of my favorite market finds was this Season’s stitchery series from Sherri Falls at This & That. The stitchery patterns are packaged with matching notecards and envelopes, and Sherri is offering the complimentary finishing instructions on her website. Collect all six stitchery patterns and dig into your stash to make the scrappy 40” x 54” quilt. The notecards are an added bonus…send a note to a friend, or tie up all six notecards with a nice ribbon for a cute gift. Patterns/notecards are available individually or as a set of six on our website.

Happy Stitching!

ffq2009

Mr. UPS just dropped these off, and I’ve already gone through and picked out several must make projects! If you’re looking for quick and easy projects to make for Christmas gift-giving, this new issue from Better Home & Gardens will fit the bill. These are some of my favorites:

ffq2009_bag

Plenty of Pockets bag by Monica Solorio-Snow (aka The Happy Zombie) has lots of room inside and lots of pockets outside for all those everyday necessities like cell phone, keys, and sunglasses. This one will be perfect for my Mom who needs lots of pockets!

Fit-to-be-Tied

I think I’ll be making the Fit to be Tied bag from designer Sherri Falls of This & That for myself. It’s the perfect size for lugging my laptop and files back and forth – and cute to boot!

Its-A-Hoot

This little pillow would make a great friendship gift, or maybe for a Secret Santa exchange. Very easily made with fusible applique, embroidery and my favorite – jumbo rick rack!

Spruce-It-Up

There’s still plenty of time to whip up the Christmas-y lap quilt, Spruce It Up, from designer Karen Montgomery. Quick pieced backgrounds and fusible applique trees leave lots of room to get creative with embellishments. Use decorative ribbons or threads for the tree garlands, or use buttons from your collection.

This magazine is just loaded with great projects – there are several table runners, pincushions, and baby and kid’s projects, too – 35 projects in all.  Order your copy today and finish off your gift-giving projects in no time!
