I thought this was a quilt shop…

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

but it’s sure beginning to look like a Sweet Shop to me.  Oh, here it comes, it’s a “Sweet” quilt shop! Aarrgghh! Sorry, I just couldn’t resist. It is looking like a sweet shop around here, though, with new Jelly Rolls, Honey Buns and other “sweet” treats that arrived today.

srbox-dLet me introduce you to these Moda ”mini” Honey Buns (Sweets Box, $19.99.) Each mini has ten strips 1 1/2-inches by WOF.  (The larger Honey Bun has 40 strips.) The Bake Shop package includes one Aviary mini-HoneyBun (designed by 3 Sisters) and one Spring Magic mini-HoneyBun (designed by April Cornell). minihoneybuns

Moda has included a free pattern in each Sweets Box to make a Sweet Treat Bag – each little mini Honey Bun will make one bag. Or make four bags from a full size Honey Bun.

This fun and easy bag makes up quickly. Perfect for sewing notions, a cosmetics bag or a gift bag – on its own or filled with treats.  With this pattern and these adorable mini’s on your shelf, you’ll never again be without a gift - you can whip up a Sweet Treat Bag in minutes!

Here’s a peek at something else that is a brand spanking new offering from Moda. If you love scrappy quilts, this is the best bargain around!
scrapbag-dThe picture is terrible, but the best I could do on short notice! These are Moda’s new Scrap Bags! You get approximately forty 3 1/2-inch color coordinated selvage strips in each bag – that’s over 3 yards!!! – for just $9.99. These aren’t scraps all from one line of fabric – the key here is that they are “color coordinated” making this a great bargain for scrap quilters.

Also just in today are fat quarter bundles ($99.95), jelly rolls ($35.00), honey buns ($23.00) and charms ($10.00) from Minick & Simpson’s new collection, Flag Day Farm, which will be out in February.

There’s more new stuff to show you, but I’m out of picture room and it’s late. Stay tuned for more. Oh, and if you want this new stuff, but can’t get to the shop anytime soon, it will be on the website tomorrow and you can order it there.  If you’re local and want to pick it up later instead of having us ship it to you, just make a note in the Comments section of the shopping cart. Or just give us a call at the shop.

I’m off to pile some extra quilts on the bed – 18 degrees tonight! Brrrr!  Stay warm.
